Edeh nwakaego blessing

My father became seriously ill in the month of August 2008 at his construction site. My mum was informed, and he was rushed to the company’s hospital. Since then, all necessary treatments and medications were administered to him but all proved futile. Afterwards, he was taken to church yet nothing happened until that fateful day, 1st December, 2008, he gave up the ghost.

Before then, life was very easy and comfortable for us. My mum then took up the responsibility of training my siblings and me through secondary school by hawking of plantain chips, which I personally prepared just to be able to feed and clothe ourselves.

In the year 2015, my mum became seriously ill. She was taken to the hospital with the help of my Pastor, Rev. Okey Dick. She was tested and diagnosed of hepatitis B. She was given all manner of medication in different hospitals but nothing happened. it got to a point that she started urinating and defecating on herself. I went through hell taking care of her. It wasn’t easy for me and my siblings until that fateful day – on Sunday 21st July, 2016, she gave up the ghost. She was buried on the 1st of August, 2016 at her husband’s compound. Life never remained the same since then. Yes, I knew I was in for the worse.

After the death and burial of my father, life became unbearable to my mother and us, the children. My father’s family seized all his properties including his house and his lands in the village, leaving us with nothing. My mother and I had to sell plantain ripe and unripe ones including plantain chips to make us feed, clothe and shelter ourselves. Everything became worse when our mother then died leaving us in the hands of nobody but God. No help from anywhere, not even from our uncles and aunties safe little from the church. We could barely feed.

We felt rejected, abandoned, shattered, hopeless and sobbed in tears each day that passed. I bless the name of the Lord today, for He located me through Sam Amaga Foundation. Today, i am a graduate.
